Adam Dennis Nylander, 48, passed away at Sanford Hospital on August 21, 2021, from a heart condition.
Adam was born on May 25, 1973, to Gary and Kathleen (Murphy) Nylander, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Fargo. He attended Moorhead Public Schools and graduated from Moorhead High in the Class of 1992. Adam, known for his winning smile and fun-loving good nature, was a loyal friend to many. Adam lived life to the fullest and on his own terms. Words to describe Adam include: honest, authentic, warm-hearted, and street-smart.
Adam found satisfaction working with his hands. He worked mainly in the construction trades, most recently with A & R Roofing and M J Dalsin Company. Adam was a smart and valued employee. His hobbies included reading history and collecting silver and historical artifacts.
Adam was passionate about family and dogs (Honey, Bear, Georgia and current beloved canine, Gypsy). Adam’s happiest days were spent with family at the lake, helping brother Aaron with projects and organizing lake and campfire activities for nephews and niece, Collin, Cam, and Mea.
Adam is survived by two brothers, Aaron Nylander of Ogema, MN and Andrew (Jami) Nylander of Fargo, ND; parents, Gary Nylander, Moorhead, and Kathleen (Murphy) Maher, Fargo; nephews, Collin Nylander and Cameron Nylander, Fargo; niece, Mea Nylander, Fargo; grandmother, Bernice Nylander, Moorhead; uncles, Bruce (Elise) Nylander, Lisbon, and Brian (Barb) Nylander, Midland, MI; aunt, Maureen Murphy, Sartell, MN; first cousins, Ben (Heather) Nylander, Jordan, MN, Sarah Nylander (Dennis) Eickhoff, Hutchinson, MN, Erin Geier (Michael) McKerley, Nashville TN, and Kathi Olson Hammer, Sartell, MN; other cousins, Olivia, Tenley, Meyla, and Griffin Nylander; Kayley, Annelise, and Eleanor Eickhoff; Nadja, Raphael, Ione, and Colm McKerley; Tierney and Elliott Hammer; and special friend Dawn Greminger.
Adam was preceded in death by his stepfather, George G. Maher, Jr.; his grandfather, Fred E. Nylander; grandparents, Guy and Audrey Murphy; and uncle, Dennis Murphy.
A picnic in memory of Adam will be on September 11, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at Urban Plains Park, Shelter B, 3020 51st Street South, Fargo, ND, directly across the street from Scheel’s Arena.
