Adele H. Nelson, 99, of Moorhead, died Monday, November 20, 2006, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN.Adele Helen Riedel was born on April 9, 1907 to Wilhelm and Henrietta Herzog Riedel at home in Parkers Prairie, MN. She grew up and attended country school in Parkers Prairie, MN. Her and her father worked in the Sabin area picking potatoes. She later worked for the Ranger family. On November 25, 1925 she married Henry A. Nelson in Parkers Prairie, together they had eight children. They farmed in the Comstock area. Adele was very involved with the ladies aid of Comstock Lutheran Church and the LYDIA Circle, acting as Treasure for numerous years. She was also very involved with the Wolverton and Comstock Senior Citizens. She loved crafts, flowers, and animals of all sorts; she also enjoyed traveling the United States with Senior Citizen groups. She will be missed dearly by her family and numerous friends.She is survived by one son, Lance Marilyn Nelson of Comstock, MN; three daughters, Janice Alby Leithe of Eden Prairie, MN, Kathleen James Shellito of Comstock, MN and Greta Fauglid of Omaha, NE; one daughter-in-law, Marilyn Nelson, Breckenridge, MN; one sister, Albertina Holteen, Osceola, WI; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sons, Brian, Gary and DuWayne; one daughter, Marlene; four brothers, Carl, Herbert, Alvin and Randall; and two sisters, Margaret and LaKardiga.
