Adrian A. Stetz

Adrian A. Stetz, 80, Moorhead, MN, died on July 16, 2017, in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Adrian Albin Stetz was born July 2, 1937 to John and Helen McDunn Stetz in Moorhead, MN. He grew up in Barnesville, MN.

He married Jeri Thompson in October of 1961 in Barnesville, MN, and they enjoyed 55 years of marriage. In 1956, he joined the Army and was honorably discharged in 1958. Adrian and Jeri made their home in Moorhead where they raised their five children.

Adrian managed the Hornbacher’s bakery for 42 years until his retirement in 1999. Following his “retirement”, Adrian kept busy with many things, including; beet and potato harvest, fishing, gardening, canning pickles, tomatoes, and sauerkraut, yardwork, delivering papers for the Forum, and numerous other things. If he wasn’t busy working on something you may find him at the cemetery watching the deer and other wildlife. Most of all he enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. Adrian was a people person and loved to have people over to the house to visit over a cocktail or cup of coffee if they’d rather. He had a wonderful and contagious sense of humor.

He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Moose Lodge, AMVETS, and American Legion and would often cook for the member banquets.

He is survived by his wife; daughters, Shelly Stetz, Connie Jim Driscoll, Pam Stetz; sons, Tony Lannea Stetz, Jon Kelly Stetz; grandchildren, Jordan and Jenna Driscoll, Jessica and Ryan Stetz; brothers, Edward and Wally Stetz, and sister Adelaide Bolgrean, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and special aunt, sister Edwin.

Visitation: Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Moorhead, MN.

Funeral Mass: Friday, July 21, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

Interment: Friday, July 21, 2017 at 2:00 PM in Barnesville City Cemetery, Barnesville, MN.
