Albert “Al” Monson

Al (Albert) Wayne Monson, 89, passed away July 7, 2018 at Villa Maria, Fargo, ND.

Al was born November 13, 1928 to Albert and Clara (Barr) Monson in Fargo.  He graduated from Central High School in 1946.  Upon graduating he enlisted in the US Marine Corp and served until 1948.  He then attended the University of North Dakota and was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.

On August 22, 1952 he married Nancy Naylor at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Fargo.  In 1956 he joined Moore Business Forms Inc. as a salesman, later becoming District Manager until his retirement in 1989.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy, of 65 years; daughter, Paula (Mark) Losee, Eagan, MN; son, Richard (Mimi), Detroit Lakes, MN, and four grandchildren, Bradley Losee, Ally, Nora and Maty Monson.

Al was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Donald, and sister, Geraldine.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of the Red River Valley, the Veterans Administration and Villa Maria for their loving care of Al the past months.

The family will hold a private service with burial at Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
