Aldwin H. Anderson

Aldwin "Al" H. Anderson, 90, of Hitterdal, MN, died Thursday, September 13, 2012, in Sunnyside Care Center, Lake Park, MN. Al was born December 23, 1921, on the family farm in Highland Grove Township, to Alfred and Selma Anderson Anderson. He grew up and attended rural country school, then started farming. Al married Ellen Miller in Highland Grove Lutheran Church in December of 1958. Together they started a family farm. Over the years, Al also worked construction and was custodian at Hawley High School, and later worked for the City of Glyndon in maintenance, retiring at age 80. He remained on the farm where he enjoyed working and later moved into Hitterdal in 1995. Many will remember him as a soloist at countless weddings, funerals and church gathering. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Edna Johnson and Margaret Mischke. Aldwin is survived by his wife, Ellen of Hitterdal, MN; son, Tim Anderson of Hitterdal, MN; daughter, Kim Rustad of Hawley, MN; grandchildren, Ryan Anderson, Brittany Matt Alexander, and Brandon, Aaron and Nicholas Rustad; sister, Esther Luthi; and several nieces and nephews.
