Alfred Baumgartner

Alfred was born April 29, 1924, to Frank and Aloysia Eberle Baumgartner on a farm near Hague, ND. They later moved to Edgely, ND, in 1932. Alfred married Ann Marie Schweitzer on November 8, 1943, in Berlin, ND. Together they raised a family and farmed in Berlin and LaMoure, ND. In 1966, they moved to Moorhead. Alfred then work for Nash-Finch for twenty years before retiring to their cabin on Lake Lida. Alfred most recently had lived at Serenity Assisted Living in Dilworth, MN. Alfred never lost his passion for working the land whether it was farming, or planting and caring for his garden. He took every opportunity to get out and look at the fields and crops. He also loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, at the lake. He will be dearly missed.Alfred is survived by seven sons, Daniel of Las Vegas, NV, Phillip of Moorhead, MN, Bob of Dilworth, MN, Allen Suzette Solheim of Las Cruces, NM, Mike Tammy of Dilworth, MN, Mark of Erhard, MN, Frank of Hawley, MN; seven daughters, Theresa Huber of Fargo, ND, Janette Baumgartner of Fargo, ND, Linda Bob Gundersen of Minneapolis, MN, Diane Scott Engen of Fargo, ND, Pam Wes Fletcher of Minneapolis, MN, Sheri John Hanson of Dilworth, MN, Mary Ann Brian Langager of Farwell, MN; 28 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joe Audrey of Dickey, ND; John Marianne of Valley City, ND, Will Dee Dee of Fargo, ND; three sisters, Mary McGregor of Fargo, ND, Margaret Kocher of Glenwood, MN, Cecile Les Becker of Windsor, CO; and many friends.He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann; parents, Frank and Aloysia; two children; granddaughter, Brenda Huber Krueger; and siblings, Ann, Barbara, Tony, Pius, Eddie, James, Victor, and Myra.
