Alfred G. Kronbeck, age 91, of Moorhead, MN, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009, with his family by his side in MeritCare Hospital, Palliative Care Unit.Alfred Garfield Kronbeck was born on April 10, 1918 to Swanie and Eliza Burnside Kronbeck. He grew up on the family farm in the Hawley area and attended country school. On April 13, 1940 he married Hyacinth Blakeway in Moorhead. After their marriage, Alfred went into mechanical work. Over the years he worked for Corwin-Churchill, Northwest Airlines Balmer Motors and the City of Moorhead before retiring. Dick loved to dance, fish, hunt, garden, riding and fixing bicycles as well as teaching children to fix their bicycles. He also enjoyed teaching children and how to swim, teaching his two daughters how to handle firearms and teaching his son-in-laws how to hunt and repair their cars. Alfred will be dearly missed by those who knew him.He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Hyacinth Kronbeck of Moorhead, MN; one daughter, Joyce Paul Motschenbacher Perham, MN; three grandchildren, Patsy Dean Wallace, Bradley Jill Motschenbacher and Barry Versdahl; four great-grandchildren, Amber Wallace and Jamie, Matthew and Ashley Motschenbacher and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Connie Versdahl; five brothers, Walter, Palmer, Raymond, Burton and Greden; one sister, June Dorrough.
