Alice C. Hoganson

Alice C. Trebesch Hoganson of Moorhead, MN, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 24, 2009. Born February 5, 1932, in Beaulieu, MN, to Reinhold and Lillian Kuchynka Trebesch, Alice was baptized at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Duane, MN, and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mahnomen, MN. She grew up and attended school in Mahnomen, MN. Alice graduated from Mahnomen High School in 1950. On April 15, 1951, she married Harold Richard Hoganson in Mahnomen. Together they made their home in Moorhead and raised their family. She was a devoted and loving wife to Harold for over 58 years taking great pleasure in making their house a home. Alice worked at Sears in West Acres from 1973 until retiring in 1999. She was a dedicated member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Moorhead for 58 years and actively participated in bible studies, Lutheran Women's Missionary League LWML, Women's Circle, Altar Guild, quilting ministry and Vacation Bible Study for those with special needs. Alice treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and she frequently attended their athletic activities, including baseball, softball, volleyball, basketball, football, and track events. She also went to their concerts, plays, scouting events, and numerous other activities to show her love and encouragement. Throughout her 77 years, Alice deeply cherished the memories fostered with family, friends and neighbors. She looked forward to vacations spent in California, Nevada and Arizona to visit family and friends, and weekends at Crystal Lake. Alice was a gentle and quiet spirit. Her humility, generosity and thoughtfulness for others, her steadfast faith, and wonderful sense of humor will always be remembered and greatly missed. Alice is survived by her husband, Harold; daughter, Valerie Mike Cossette, grandchildren, Malinda and Kristie, step-grandchildren, Danielle Rick Morris and family and Jennifer Wade Stroup and family, Sabin, MN: son Rick Pat Hoganson, grandchildren Katie and Adam, Moorhead, MN, daughter Peggy Robert Sorensen, grandchildren Jay and Carl, Mankato, MN, son-in-law Lynn Brenden, grandchildren Hailey, Courtney and Noah, Rothsay, MN, son Stu Shannon Hoganson, grandchildren Preston and Ethan, Moorhead, MN; sister, Alma Braget Christianson, Anoka, MN and sister-in-law Sally Kadrie Sorensen, Watertown, SD. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kelly Brenden and parents, Reinhold and Lillian Trebesch; and a brother, Clem Kadrie.
