Alice E. Anderson, age 95, of Ulen, MN, died Saturday, July 4, 2009, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND.Alice E. Anderson was born on January 24, 1914 to Charles and Johanna Cederberg in Highland Grove Township. She was baptized at Highland Grove Lutheran Church and confirmed at Hawley Lutheran Church. Alice went to country school in Winnipeg Junction which required her to walk one and quarter miles each way, "uphill both ways" of course. After completing the 8th grade, she stayed home to help her parents on the farm. Alice married Arthur Anderson on March 16, 1933 in Moorhead, together they had five children. They rented farms in rural Ulen and Hawley, before purchasing a farm southwest of Hitterdal, which they operated until their retirement. Art died in May, 1976. Alice moved into Hitterdal in 1980 where she lived until she moved to the Viking Manor in 2005. Blessed be the memory of Alice, she will be missed dearly by those who knew her.She is survived by three sons, Floyd Mary Lou of Hitterdal, Nile Raynelle of Hawley, Rick Paula of West Fargo; one daughter, Faye Forrest Erickson of Audubon; one daughter-in-law, Shirley Anderson of Detroit Lakes; eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, DuWayne, one brother, Albin Cederberg and three sisters, Jenny Swenson, Selma Johnson and Alma Norman.
