Alice E. Krieg

Alice Krieg, 85, Moorhead, MN, died on Tuesday, November 28, 2017, in Eventide Senior Living, Moorhead, MN.

Alice E. Lipp was born on October 8, 1932, near Ft. Yates, ND, to Joseph and Irene (Volk) Lipp. As a young child she moved with her family to Fargo where she grew up and received her education, attending Sacred Heart School.

As a young lady, Alice worked at De Lendrecie’s Department store and Welu Dental Lab.  Later in life she became known as the “Paint Lady” after years of working at Dakota Paint and Glass, the Paint Supply Store, Diamond Vogel Paint, Tahran Paint and Decorating, and Simonson Lumber.  She was very gifted and respected for her expertise with stains and paint color matching.

She enjoyed spending summers on Big Cormorant Lake with family and friends. She had a green thumb, liked to read, and loved music. She was a league bowler for many years. Alice enjoyed attending her kids and grandkids sporting events.

Alice is survived by her children, Deborah (Keith) Gifford, Moorhead, Chuck (Char) Krieg, Detroit Lakes, MN, Joel (Karmen) Krieg, Fargo, Laurel Erickson, West Fargo, and Timothy (Jenni) Krieg, Fargo; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister Irene Davis, Inver Grove Heights; brother Bernard Januscheitis, Moorhead. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Renee’ Kranz.

Memorial service: Monday, December 4, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. Friends may gather at the funeral home from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M.
