Alice E. O. Hendrickson, 86, of Lake Park, Minnesota, died Monday, October 16, 2006, at Sunnyside Care Center, Lake Park, Minnesota, under hospice care, after a battle with cancer.Alice Elvira Olivia Hendrickson was born on the family farm, southeast of Lake Park, Minnesota on May 24, 1920, to Helmer and Alma Olson Hendrickson. Her twin sister, Olivia, died at birth. Alice was a member and was confirmed at Lake Park Lutheran Church on May 19, 1935. She attended rural country school and Lake Park High School. Alice worked on the family farm as a young girl and as a young adult. She helped raise her nieces and nephews, then moved into Lake Park in the late 1940's, where she was a resident until her illness and in 2005 moved to Sunnyside Care Center. She worked as a nanny in Lake Park and the Fargo/Moorhead area. She also worked at Dr. Midthune's clinic for eight years. Alice loved gardening, raising vegetables and raspberries, and later in life she just had a flower garden. She loved dogs and had many throughout her life. She had many hobbies, which included sewing, embroidering, painting, collecting trinkets and teddy bears, and also picking chokecherries with her sister-in-law, Charlotte. She also made the front page of the Lake Park Times when she was 82 years old, as the "shortest lady in Lake Park".She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister, one brother, Kermit, and a great-great nephew, Zachary.Alice is survived by a sister-in-law, Charlotte Hendrickson, Lake Park, MN; eight nieces and nephews, Ilo Hendrickson, Ron Mary Hendrickson, Darwin Cindy Hendrickson, Owen Hendrickson, Julie Randy Boyer, Kevin Ruth Hendrickson, Darla Ken Maves, and Duane Hendrickson; eleven great nieces and nephews, and eleven great-great nieces and nephews.
