Allan William Evernham

Allan W. Evernham, 80, of Moorhead, MN, died at White Pines Assisted Living facility in Blaine, MN, on February 13, 2019, under the care of his loving Olive Grove Hospice care team.

Allan was born March 4, 1938, to William and Cora (Overby) Evernham in Moorhead. Allan attended grade school in Moorhead and high school at Moorhead State Teachers Campus School where he met the love of his life, Judith “Judy” Olson.

Allan and Judy were married on January 4, 1956 and lived in Moorhead until recently relocating to be loved and cared for near family. Allan served his county in the National Guard from 1956 – 1958. Allan and Judy ran “Old Trail Gardens” vegetable farm north of Moorhead for several years before going to work in town. Allan worked at Sturdevant’s Auto Parts for over 25 years until he retired in 1998. Allan and Judy were married over 52 years and raised two daughters, JoEllen and Alanna.

Allan was incredibly skilled in many things and often could be found working on home improvement projects and caring for his award-winning gardens at his home in North Moorhead. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was always lending a hand to any project they came to him with. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandpa, and friend and will be incredibly missed by his family.

He is survived by his children, JoEllen Shendy, San Francisco, CA, and Alanna (Scott) Bilben, Blaine, MN; grandchildren, Tahia (22), Tariq (18), Riley (17), and Jack (13); brother, Edward (Cyndy) Evernham, Brooklyn Park, MN; sister, Patricia (David) O’dell, Richfield, MN; and many other loving relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Judy.

Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 P.M., at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church on Sunday, February 24, 2019. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Evergreen Cemetery, Moorhead, MN, Olive Grove Hospice, Blaine, MN, or Hospice of the Red River Valley.
