Allen J. Sakellson

Allen James Sakellson, 69, of Moorhead, MN, died Saturday, February 4, 2017, at home under the care of family and Hospice of the Red River Valley. Allen was born September 15, 1947, in Moorhead to James and Mary Savageau Sakellson. He attended school in Fargo before enlisting in the U.S. Army, where he served overseas during Vietnam. Allen married Betty Wetch in Fargo on September 5, 1970. Together they made their home in Fargo/Moorhead. Allen worked at Butler Machinery for nearly 44 years and served in the National Guard before retiring as a Sergeant.
Over the years, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, metal detecting, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandson. He will be greatly missed.

Allen is survived by his wife, Betty; daughter, Tammy Bernie Sakellson; grandson, Nicholas; brothers, Dana Sakellson and Jeff Ann Sakellson; sister-in-law, Diane Sakellson; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Larry.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 9, at 2:00 p.m., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
