Allen O. Tollefsrud

Allen was born February 26, 1929 in Ulen, Minnesota to Henry C. and Selma Orwold Tollefsrud. He grew up and attended rural country school and graduated from Ulen High School in 1948. Following high school he entered the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Japan for 4 ½ years. Allen was married to Sonja Rylander on June 26, 1955 in Ulen, MN. They were married 53 years, during which time he farmed in Ulen, worked for Erie Mining Company, and for twenty five years worked for Twin City Construction Company in Fargo. After retiring he worked for the Rapat Corporation in Hawley. Allen enjoyed farming, gardening, listening to country music and dancing. Allen was a member of Solem Lutheran Church in rural Hawley, Minnesota. Allen was the most generous, kind, gentle, caring and unselfish man who truly loved his family more than anything. His greatest joy was spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and visiting with family and friends. He touched the lives of many and will be sadly missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his wife, Sonja, Hawley, MN; six children, Laurie Roger Hansen, Baker, MN, Heidi Peter Jacobson, Detroit Lakes, MN, Cindy Roger Lee, Chaska, MN, Mary Patrick Bowden, Barrington, NH, Tom Sarah Tollefsrud, Hawley, MN, Missy Jamie Power, Eden Prairie, MN; three brothers, Delman Tollefsrud, Frontinac, MN, Marvin Tollefsrud, Ulen, MN, and Leo Tollefsrud, Ulen, MN; one sister, Shirley Harlan Wentz, Hitterdal, MN; nineteen grandchildren, Allison Charles Eaton, Ashley Kujanson, Eric Natalie Hansen, Kyle Rami Hansen, Lisa Hansen, Alex Angie Hansen, Kate Hansen, William, Michael & Benjamin Jacobson, Jesse, Sawyer & Andrew Lee, Brooke, Kaitlyn & Hannah Tollefsrud, Brittany Vigesaa, Taylor & Sydney Power; six great-grandchildren, Charlie, Nate, Noel, Dane, Ryker & Jayden. He was preceded in death by one son, David; one brother, Lowell; his parents, Henry & Selma Tollefsrud; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Delbert & Evelyn Rylander.
