Alois J. Knauf

Alois J. Knauf passed away July 13, 2004 at the Villa Maria Nursing Home, where he had been a resident for six years. Alois Joseph Knauf was born in Moorhead, MN on July 15, 1912 to Matthew and Laura Baldwin Knauf. Alois grew up in Moorhead. He graduated from Moorhead High School, where he excelled in "Spud Athletics". Alois married Delores Peterson on December 31, 1938. They made their home in Moorhead. He was employed by Clay Motors and the Coca-Cola Company. He was employed by Nash Finch Co. in Fargo for twenty five years. He retired from Nash Finch Co. in 1977.Alois was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Matt and Larry, his daughter, J. Jean Ducca and granddaughter, Debbie Eid Taylor. He is survived by his wife of sixty five years, Delores Knauf, his son, Mike Knauf, Grandin, ND; daughter, Patty Ekstrom, Fargo, ND; four grandchildren, including Lisa Dan Wolf, Moorhead, MN and seven great grandchildren, including Alex Wolf, Moorhead, MN.
