Alvin E. Kronbeck, 79, of Hawley, Minnesota, died Sunday, May 15, 2005, at Eventide Lutheran Home in Moorhead, Minnesota.Alvin Edward Kronbeck was born December 27, 1925, on a farm near Hawley, Minnesota to Aaron and Ethel Dougherty Kronbeck. He grew up and attended rural country school near Hawley. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1946. Alvin was married to Ardith Kjos on June 15, 1944 in Hawley, Minnesota. In 1957 they moved to California where they lived for two years, then moved back to Hawley. Alvin was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Ames Sand and Gravel, Lanseidel Construction of Glyndon, and Industrial Builders of Fargo, retiring in 1987. Ardith died August 5, 1997. Since September 10, 1997, he has been a resident of Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one grandchild, three sisters and three brothers. He is survived by three sons, Tim Pamela Kronbeck, Hawley, MN, Tony Audrey Kronbeck, Hawley, MN, and Tylan Cindi Kronbeck, Pelican Rapids, MN; five daughters, Diane Jerry Kukert, Horace, ND, Nancy Robert Whaley, Hawley, MN, Theresa Tony Softing, Hawley, MN, Suzanne Greg Cook, Rockford, MN, and Tana Kronbeck, Moorhead, MN; one sister, Jeanette Ray Drescher, Canyon Lake, TX; nineteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren.
