Andrew H. Cossette

Andrew H. Cossette, 84, Fargo, ND, died on Monday, February 29, 2016 in his home in Fargo.
Andrew Henry Cossette was born on March 24, 1931 to Midas and Alice Sauvageau Cossette on the farm at St. Benedict, near Wild Rice, ND where he grew up and attended school.
On November 15, 1950 Andrew married the love of his life Donna Mahar. They made their home in Fargo. He served in the Naval Reserve and spent most of his life in agriculture. He spent ten years working for R.F. Gunkelman and Sons where he got his start working in agricultural products. He spent the next twenty years working for Agway Inc. in Grandin ND, and its home office in Syracuse, NY. He then built a sunflower processing plant on the home farm near St. Benedict which he was involved with for 25 years. For 20 of those years Andrew spent many hours in the sky flying to many countries such as Japan, Korea and Taiwan. He worked with the embassy in Japan helping with their sunflower and soybean needs. He also did the same all over Europe in Germany, the U.K., Sweden, the Netherlands, Spain and many more agricultural areas. He was very successful in marketing North Dakota products abroad and all over the United States. He also owned and operated two Laundromats and a Texaco service station in Fargo.
Andrew’s love for cars started at an early age when he would drive the family car around the farm yard and fields. He restored many older cars with his brothers Mike and Tom. This hobby became a passion which he excelled at. His meticulous restorations made their way to Hollywood studios and into the hands of celebrities.
His beloved wife, Donna died on October 11, 2015.
Andrew is survived by his sons Douglas Jan Cossette, Fargo, ND, and David Cossette, Fargo, ND; daughters Diane Jim Gibb, Fargo, ND, Darlene Denis Oye, Fargo, ND, and Danelle Joel McMaster, Aberdeen, SD; sisters Angela Richard, Wolf Point, MT, and Betty Schwab, Fargo, ND; nineteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; and siblings Mike Cossette, Robert Cossette, Denise Vandal, and Tom Cossette.
Visitation: Monday, March 7, 2016, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., with a prayer service at 6:30 P.M. in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
Funeral Mass: Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at 2:30 P.M. in Nativity Catholic Church, Fargo, ND.
Interment: St. Benedict’s Catholic Cemetery, Wild Rice, ND.
