Ann was born February 19, 1905 to Guri and Anker Sanden in Walworth Township, Becker County, MN; graduated from Ulen High School in 1924, and attained her teaching certificate from Moorhead Normal School. She taught two years in School District #113 before her marriage to Edwin Somdahl at the Wild Rice Parsonage, Flom, MN. They first lived in Chicago, IL and later in Lake Park, MN, Fremont, NE, Webster, SD and Fargo, ND. In 1958 they built their retirement home on Turtle Lake, Lake Park, MN where Ann continued to live following the death of her husband in 1984. Ann was an active and long time member of Lake Park Lutheran Church. She especially enjoyed quilting, crossword puzzles, and gardening.She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, five brothers ââ¬â Ole, Ed, Albert, Gilbert and Elmerââ¬âand six sisters: Minnie Sams, Christina Arneson, Ida Anderson, Sophie Krause, Caroline Brattland and Theoline Kaiser. Ann is survived by her three children, Betty John Elfers, Narvel Marilyn Somdahl, and Edlyn Ray Paulson, thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, two sisters-in-law, Margrette Somdahl Dahle, Fargo and Agnes Mastin Sanden, Detroit Lakes, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
