Ann “Kay” Jacobsen

Ann “Kay” Jacobsen, 77, Moorhead, MN, died March 1, 2022 at Essentia Health In Fargo, ND.

Kay was born July 4, 1944, in Gilby, ND, to Ordean Sr. and Maxine (Jackson) Haugen. She was raised in Honeyford, ND and attended NW High School of Agriculture, graduating in 1962.

Kay was united in marriage to Curt Edwards on November 2, 1963, in Moorhead. Together they owned and operated Joe’s Far-Mor service station in Moorhead. Curt passed away in 1999.

In 2001 Kay married Harry (Jake) Jacobsen in Fargo, ND. They made their home in Moorhead.

Kay enjoyed riding around the countryside with Jake, watching the deer and turkeys. They enjoyed traveling together with family and friends. Kay also enjoyed spending time, playing card games and board games. Through her marriage to Jake, Kay became part of a large growing family. She LOVED being called Grandma Kay.

Kay is survived by her husband Jake; 5 step-daughters, Terryl (Howard) Tommerdahl, of Hendrum, MN, Bonnie Mohr, Shellie (Ray) Christensen, Cheryl (Doug) Edenborg, all of Moorhead, and Kimberly Waara, St Coud, MN; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson, and several nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Curt Edwards; son-in-law Timothy K. Mohr; her parents; her brother, Ordean Haugen Jr., and sisters, Darlene Rutherford and Cheryl Johnson.

Following Kay’s wishes, the service will be a graveside service on Saturday May 14, 2022, in Riverside Cemetery north Moorhead at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends are welcome.

Everyone is invited to join the family in the community room at Jake & Kay’s apartment building for bars and refreshments after the service.
