Anna A. Iverson

August 9, 1918 — December 9, 2006

Anna Adeline Iverson was born August 9, 1914 to Gust Anton and Sarah Lofgren. She was the 6th child of a total of fourteen children. Anna was named after her Grandmother. Anna grew up near Hitterdal, MN, and graduated from Hitterdal High School. She married her school bus driver, Rudolph Henry Iverson on November 5, 1933. They lived in the Lake Park and Hitterdal area until 1963 when they moved to Dilworth, MN. She later moved to Moorhead and most recently lived at the Sunnyside Care Center in Lake Park, MN. She did a lot of painting and cleaning with her sister, Emma, around the Hitterdal area, she later worked at picking and cutting potatoes, she helped make lefse in Lake Park, she also sold Avon for several years and worked at various food service jobs in the Dilworth and Moorhead area after moving to Dilworth. Anna loved her memories of growing up in such a large family. They always have been a very close family; a very fun loving family at times and all have many memorable hours of just sitting and reminiscing. Sometimes with laughter and sometimes with tears. Anna once said that the word that best describes her life was "Thankful." Anna is very well remembered for her great baking. It was very special to wake up in her house on a Saturday morning and smell fresh bread or donuts being made. It was known in her neighborhood in Dilworth when baking day was and everyone could enjoy her treats. At Christmas time she would be busy making homemade lefse and hanging it on her clothes rack to cool. Her family remembers receiving their own individual buckets of their favorite cookies and her famous "what-not" box at Christmas each year. She is survived by her two daughters, Cynthia Larry Burnside, Ogema, MN, and Judy Larry LeBlanc, Fargo, ND; her son, Gary friend Karen Iverson, West Fargo, ND; two sisters, Agnes Coalwell, Sunnyside Care Center, Lake Park, MN, and Ruth Malakowsky, Hitterdal, MN. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren: Travis Burnside, Tony Burnside, Casey Burnside, Joe Amy Lease, Julie Lease, Jerry Nikki Oye, James Melanie Iverson and Alex Rolle; eight great-grandchildren: Shantel Chase, Keesha Goulet, Austin Burnside, Hunter Burnside, Fisher Burnside, Levi Lease, Brianna Lease and Carter Iverson; and two step-grandchildren: Josh and Ashley Bayliss. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Iverson, her parents, Gust and Sarah Lofgren, eight brothers and three sisters. Anna's family would like to give a special thank you to the employees at Sunnyside Care Center in Lake Park, MN, and a special thank you to Randy for his thoughtfulness to her family at the time of her passing and to her very special angel, her niece, Anita Olson for her many visits and companionship.
