Annie Kragero

Annie (Nickel) Kragero, 88, of Moorhead, MN, passed away with family by her side on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Sanford’s Hospice House, Fargo, ND. Annie was born December 31, 1934, to Henry W. and Susanna (Ewert) Nickel. She grew up on the family farm near Ulen, MN, and graduated from Ulen High School. Following high school, Annie continued her education while working at Dakota Hospital in Fargo, ND. She then began her career with American Crystal Sugar and enjoyed her time there until retiring in 1997, after 27 years. Annie also enjoyed drawing, painting, and bowling. She loved visiting with friends and neighbors and spending time with family. She will be dearly missed.

Annie is survived by her children, Susan (David) Stephens, Sharon (Doug Job) Gibbons, Terry (Lori Palmer) Kragero, Robert (Nora Emers and Jaime Emers) Kragero, Larry (Janae) Kragero, Curtis (Becca Paine) Kragero; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Wilhelm Nickel, Jacob Nickel, Orlando Nickel, Henry H. Nickel, Ruth Darge, Mary Nickel and Esther Taves Clarke.

Visitation: Thursday, February 16, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead.

Funeral: Friday, February 17, at 2:00 p.m., at Triumph Lutheran Brethren Church in Moorhead.

Interment: Keene Lutheran Cemetery, rural Ulen, MN.
