Antonia F. Martinez

Antonia F. (Flores) Martinez, 86, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Sanford Health Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Antonia was born on June 13, 1937, to Louis and Crescencia (Salas) Flores in Cotulla, TX. She grew up in Texas where she attended school. She was working in Minnesota where she met Pedro Martinez and they were united in marriage in 1950 in Crookston, MN. They moved to Ohio in 1951 where Pedro worked at a steel factory while Antonia took care of her family at home. They moved again in 1979, to Texas where she continued to provide for her family at home while Pedro worked as a laborer. They moved to Moorhead, MN, in 1986, where they have remained ever since. Pedro passed away on May 31, 1994.

Antonia enjoyed gardening, dancing, and playing bingo. Above all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Wherever she went, she was always making people laugh and was loved by all. She was very loving, kind, caring, and always loved taking care of her family and friends.

Antonia is survived by her daughters, Gloria Garcia, Hermalinda Montez, and Petra (Hugo) Hernandez; grandchildren, Monica Garcia, Ricardo Garcia, April Garcia, Vincent Garcia, Graciela Garcia, and Gustavo Garcia, Margaret Felan, Pete Martinez, III, J.C. Martinez, Tony Martinez-Valdez, Brandon Valdez, Louie Alvarado, and Stephanie Alvarado, Sara Montez, Roxanne Montez, and Samuel Montez, Gina Renae (Lorenzo) Gracia, and Christohper Hernandez; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild on the way; and many other loving relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Pedro; parents, Louis and Crescencia; son, Pete; grandson, Hilario Montez; great-granddaughter, Mia Nicole; and her siblings, Juan Flores, Tranquelino Flores, and Maria Luisa Martinez.

Visitation will be from noon to 1:00 P.M., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, March 7, 2024, at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, Moorhead, MN. Burial will take place at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery following the service.
