Archie Maier

Archie was born on December 9, 1915 in Moorhead to Fred and Rose Maier. He grew up and attended school in Moorhead.He married to Daisy Beth Moore and she passed away in 1937.In November of 1938, he married Dorothy Milner in Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN, and they made their home in Moorhead. They moved to California in 1940, where he worked in the Naval Ship Yards on the Liberty Ships during World War II. After the war they returned to Moorhead where he farmed until 1953. They then purchased a farmstead in south Fargo, ND, where they operated a truck farm, growing berries and vegetables. They retired in 1990. Dorothy died on February 17, 1998.He is survived by two sons, Archie Jr. Sharon, Fargo, ND and Gary Diane, Battle Lake, MN; one daughter, Nancy Rodney Hubbard, Fargo, ND; two sisters, Evelyn DeMoulin, Fairfield, CA and Ruth Veloza, Seattle, WA; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Daisy, wife Dorothy, and nine brothers and sisters.
