Arland Johnson

Arland Harold Charles Johnson (75) of Hawley, MN passed away on September 4, 2021, at Rosewood on Broadway in Fargo, ND.   Visitation will be September 11, 2021, at 1:00 p.m, service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Hawley.

Arland was born September 15, 1945, to Helmer and Edna (Anderson) Johnson.  He attended Hitterdal Public School, graduating in 1963.  He was in the Army Reserve from 1965-1971.  On March 4, 1972, Arland was united in marriage to Helen Mae “Helly” (Carpenter) Johnson.  Arland spend 20 years in the farming industry, as well as 30 years in construction.  In his retirement years, he loved his garden, trips to Laughlin, Nevada, and Thursday afternoon meetings.

Arland is survived by his wife of 49 years, Helly; sons, Scott (Heidi) Johnson, and Jeromy (Ada) Johnson; grandchildren, Paige and Cory Johnson, and Isabella Martinez; sister-in-law, Nancy Wimpfheimer; brother-in-law, Glenn Carpenter; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Helmer and Edna Johnson, and sister Marilyn Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of the Red River Valley, and Rosewood on Broadway.
