Arlene I. Holm

Arlene Inez (Kuehl) Holm, 97, of Lake Park, MN, died Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Sunnyside Care Center.

Arlene was born November 26, 1924 to Johnnie and Frances (Froemming) Kuehl in Sabin, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at Sabin Lutheran Church, grew up in Sabin and Glyndon, MN, and graduated from Glyndon High School. She married Donald L. Holm and they farmed together by Lake Park, MN for 61 years. She was the candy lady at FW Woolworth’s in Detroit Lakes, MN and she fried lefse for many years. She was a beautiful seamstress, cook, and baker. She was a wonderful Christian woman who seldom preached but lived by example. She was a friend to all who knew her.

She is survived by her son Fredrick (Rick) Holm and daughter Barbara (Dr. Mark) Malmberg, 7 grandchildren: Donald E. (Tiffaney) Holm, Jason (Rebekah) Holm, Alisha (Cody) Lancaster, Joshua Holm, Mark (Kristine) Malmberg II, Megan Rudnick, and Merrick Malmberg, 17 great-grandchildren: Isaiah Holm, Simon Holm, Zion Holm, Adah Holm, Zebediah Holm, Dakota Holm, Weston Holm, Bryson Holm, Dawson Holm, Cheyenne Lancaster, Aubrey Holm, Jade (Benjamin) Sullivan, Morgan Rudnick, Maxxen Malmberg, Malen Malmberg, Marden Malmberg, and Micah Malmberg, her sister LaVon (Henry) Ford, her sister-in-law Doris (Nolan) Underlee, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Holm, her parents Johnnie and Frances (Froemming) Kuehl, 3 brothers: Norman (Sylvia) Kuehl, Vernus (Ione) Kuehl, Glenn (Mildred) Kuehl, 1 sister: Jeanette (Ralph) Knutson, her daughter-in-law Connie (Rick) Holm, and 1 great-grandchild Woodrow Lancaster.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022, at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour before the service at Lake Park Lutheran Church, Lake Park, MN.

Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
