Arline Follett passed away peacefully on December 8, 2020 at Eventide on Eighth in Moorhead. She was 99 and lived independently until the past year. During her early years, Arline attended country school in Cuba, ND and later moved 11 miles away from her family to continue her high school education in Valley City, ND. She attended teacher’s college there and taught for several years in Sisseton, SD before moving to California to work for Standard Oil during WWII. It was there that she met Chuck. Arline devoted her life to her husband, Chuck, and her sons, Gary and Glen. She and Chuck raised their boys in Moorhead before moving to Thief River Falls, MN to continue Chuck’s career. Upon retirement, they spent many summers at Bad Medicine Lake surrounded by their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Arline and Chuck wintered in Mesa, Arizona where Arline enjoyed hiking and reading.
She is survived by her sons: Gary, St. Louis Park, MN; and Glen (Mary), Bad Medicine Lake, Ponsford, MN. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Charley (Angela), Plymouth, MN; and Laura (Derek) Larson, Golden Valley, MN; and great-grandchildren: Lydia and Peter Follett and Sam Larson.
Arline was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years in 2006.
Memorials may be directed to Itasca State Park in memory of Arline.
