Arnold D. Bjerke

Arnold Duane Bjerke, 87, of Moorhead, MN, died May 16, 2019, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.

Arnie was born February 9, 1932 to Alfred and Alma (Thorsvig) Bjerke in Ulen, MN. He grew up and attended high school in Ulen. Arnie served in the U.S. Army in Europe during the Korean War. He worked in the produce department of the Red Owl in Fargo-Moorhead and he also volunteered for Hospice of the Red River Valley in later years.  On July 12, 2015 he was united in marriage to Arlene Miller in the bingo room of the Moorhead American Legion.

Arnie is survived by his wife, Arlene Miller, of Moorhead, and her children: Mara (Joel) Trygstad, Michelle (Jon) Aarsvold and Michael Miller (Kyrie Bauske); 8 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Lyle and half-siblings, Nile and Margaret.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at 2:00 P.M., with visitation from 1-2 P.M., at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead.
