Arthur E. Erickson

Arthur E. Erickson, age 94, of Moorhead, MN passed away Monday, September 25, 2017 at home surrounded by family.

Arthur Emil Erickson was born on October 7, 1922 to Erick A. and Elise M. Erickson in Moorhead. He grew up in rural Rustad, MN and attended country school there. In 1942, he entered the U.S. Navy where he served in the Pacific in the Seabees.

On February 7, 1948, Arthur married Gwendolyn Castonia in Moorhead where they made their home. Arthur worked as an electrician and was a member of IBEW local 1426. After retirement, Arthur enjoyed traveling, summers at the cabin he built on Big Sugarbush Lake and especially time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Arthur was a long-time member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn; son, Mitchell Kristine of Watertown, MN; three grandchildren, Angella, Waconia, MN, Laura, Eagan, MN, Justin, Independence, MO; two great-grandchildren, Biella and Bjorn, Waconia, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Edwin Erickson, Pearl Mattson, Evelyn McNaughton, Esther LaFond and Elise Dawson.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 2:00 PM, with a visitation one hour before in Bethesda Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN.

Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
