Arthur Harry was born on July 4, 1931 in Austin, MN, to Harry and Mildred Peterson Arett. When Arthur was 7 years old, the family moved to Moorhead, MN, after his father's death. He attended school in Moorhead. On July 14, 1950, he married Bernice Pownell, in Fargo, ND. Together they raised five boys. Arthur worked at Farmer's Home Grocery, Moorhead, Fairmont Creamery, Moorhead, Manchester Biscuit Company, Fargo, Fairway Foods, Fargo and the US Post Office in Moorhead, as a mail carrier. Additionally, Arthur spent his time volunteering with his church delivering Meals on Wheels. He also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings and Twins. Arthur loved to visit with everyone and learn about the history of Moorhead. Every year he looked forward to planning his annual trips with his granddaughters, and sons and grandson. Most of all, he loved being a grandpa, not only to his own family, but to all the children in the neighborhood. Arthur is survived by his wife, Bernice, Moorhead; five sons, Michael Arett, Minneapolis, Mitchell Arett, Minneapolis, Brian Arett, Moorhead, Bradley Patty Arett, Moorhead and Christopher Arett, Moorhead.; four grandchildren, Corey Sorenson, Lauren, Jessica and Carly Arett; and one great-granddaughter, Olivia Sorenson. He is preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers, Mervin and Daniel Arett, and two sisters, Marian and Grace Larson.
