Arthur Orville Erickson

Arthur Orville Erickson, 91, Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN, died on Friday, July 15, 2005, in the nursing home.Arthur Orville Erickson was born on April 19, 1914, in Chicago, IL, to Erick and Helga Thomas Erickson. He attended Hanson Tractor School in Fargo, ND, and took a class in welding. He then went to work for Zenith Dredge Company in Duluth, MN, building Coast Guard Cutters. He worked there until being drafted in the Army. After his discharge from the Army he farmed in the Maddock, ND, area. He married Gladys Sund on October 8, 1939 in Sheyenne, ND. After retiring from farming, he and Gladys moved to New Rockford, ND. In 2000, Orville and Gladys sold their home in New Rockford and moved to Moorhead. He is survived by three daughters, Glennys Sigurd Sivertson, Moorhead, MN, Kay David Nilson, Hazen, ND, and Nancy John Benson, Maddock, ND; one son, Dean Sheila Erickson, Maddock, ND; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
