Audrey C. Haugstad, age 83, of Moorhead, MN passed away on April 1, 2020 at her residence.
Audrey C. Christopherson was born August 5, 1936 in Climax, MN to Gilbert and Avis (Sparrow) Christopherson. She grew up on a farm, attended Climax High School and was confirmed at the Climax Lutheran Church. After graduation, she attended the University of North Dakota before continuing her education at Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Grand Forks, ND. Audrey married James “Jim” Haugstad in the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, IA on June 8, 1957. Audrey and Jim moved to Moorhead where she became an operating room staff nurse at St. Ansgar Hospital, Moorhead for 35 years until her retirement in 1992.
After retirement, Audrey and Jim enjoyed spending time at the lake. Audrey spent her free time sewing, crocheting, gardening, and baking. She had a compassionate heart and always made sure there was enough food for everyone. She loved spending time with her family, especially around the holidays.
Audrey is survived by her children, Brenda J Haugstad and Scott (partner, Diane Schulz) Haugstad; sister-in-law, Mary Christopherson (Gene); niece, Michelle (Perry) Ferris; nephew, Todd (Nancy); niece, Rhonda (Al) Feldeverd; sister-in-law, Lorraine (Edgar) Haugstad; nephews, Richard (Peggy) and Jeffery (Leslie); nieces, Rebecca Malme and Jane Johnson; Mavis (Vernon) Haugstad; nephew, Russell; niece, Jody; sister-in-law, Lea (Oscar) Dell; niece, Peggy; nephew, James; niece, Pat; nephew, Larry; nephew Johnny, nieces, Mary and Nancy (Robert); half-sister, Joy (Richard) Niesemeier; as well as many close friends.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Haugstad; brothers, Gene (Mary) and Tom (Christine); brothers-in-law Edgar, Robert and Oscar; and niece, Janet Dell.
Also preceded in death was her beloved Samoyed “Queenie” with whom she enjoyed many loving years.
A private family service will be held.
