Audrey Corrine Lunder

Audrey Corrine (Erickson) Lunder, 94, passed away at Viking Manor Nursing Home, Ulen, MN on Thursday, October 18, 2018. She was born at home in Rollag, MN, on May 29, 1924, to Roy and Allie (Fjaer) Erickson.

Audrey walked to country school approximately three miles one way. Her dad would bring them to school by horse and sleigh when it was cold outside. She was active in 4-H and played drums in the band. She graduated from Barnesville High School. Upon graduation, she worked as a bookkeeper performing various jobs. She met her future husband, Earl Lunder, at a dance in Barnesville. Audrey married Earl on November 7, 1944. They made their home south of Hawley, MN and later moved to a farm in Ulen, MN where they continued to raise their children. After Earl’s passing, Audrey made her home at the Assisted Living in Ulen, MN, and later at the Viking Manor Nursing Home. She enjoyed her friends, card games, playing bingo, solitaire, and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her six children, Gary (Judy) Lunder, Susan (Robert) Giarrusso, Mary (Wayne) Aakre, Dianne (Dean) Klemetson, Dave Lunder, and Debra (Monte) Ashmore; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne (Phyllis) Erickson and Roy Erickson; sister-in-law, Lila Erickson; and many other loving relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Allie; husband, Earl; sister, Grace Lammers; and brother, Robert Erickson.

Visitation will be on Sunday, October 21, 2018, from 3:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M. with a prayer service beginning at 5:00 P.M. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ulen, MN. Visitation will continue on Monday, October 22, 2018, from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at the church. Burial will be at Bethlehem Cemetery North, Ulen, MN, following the service.

The family would like extend their gratitude to the staff at Viking Manor and to the Hospice of the Red River Valley for the care and hospitality they provided to Audrey.
