Barbara D. Walstad

Barbara D. Walstad, 84, formerly of rural Moorhead, MN passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022, at The Linden Tree – Eventide, Moorhead, MN.

Barbara Delaine Rosenfeldt was born on August 7, 1938, in Moorhead, MN to Edward and Helen (Ernst) Rosenfeldt. She grew up near Sabin, MN and attended school in Sabin, Barnesville and Moorhead High School.

Barbara married Clifford Walstad on February 2, 1955, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sabin. They moved to Moorhead but eventually made their way back to Clifford’s family farm, where they raised their family of four children.

Barbara was an active member of Hoff Lutheran Church in Rustad, MN where she played the organ, participated in Ladies Aid and was a quilter. Outside of church was busy as well with the community book club and Homemakers, and she loved the Town Hall Lectures. Barbara was very creative with all types of crafts including hardanger and ceramics. She also LOVED her Minnesota Twins. In fact, when her cable provider dropped the station that carried the games, she dropped that provider and switched over so she wouldn’t miss a game. Barbara and Cliff enjoyed traveling together and spending time at their lake place at Lake of the Woods.

Barbara is survived by her husband; sons, Lee and Kelly; daughters, Kari (Ron) Lammers and Melanie Miller; grandchildren, Aaron, Melissa (Dave), Amy (Tony), Sam (Stef), Jay (Lynn) and Becky (A.J.); great-grandchildren, Garrett, Zoe, Claire, Emma, Charlotte, Simon, Jack, Quinn, Alma, Mallory, and Kellen; brothers, Doug (Joanne) and Roger; and sisters, Phyllis (Junior) Galvan and Sandy Rosenfeldt.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral service with Livestream will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at 1:00 PM with a visitation one hour before the service at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Burial will be in Hoff Lutheran Cemetery, Rustad, MN.
