Beatrice Ellingson

Beatrice Ellingson, 93, of Hawley, MN, went to be with her Lord Saturday, June 6, 2020, at Eventide in Moorhead.

Beatrice Harrietta Ellingson was born March 24, 1927 in Fargo, ND, to Robert and Edith (Flohrs) Peters.  She grew up and attended school in Hawley, MN.  Beatrice was united in marriage to Julian Ellingson on October 31, 1942 in Audubon, MN.  They lived in Hitterdal and Ogema, MN for several years before moving to Hawley in 1954.  They farmed from 1943 to 1954 and later owned a cabinet making business in Hawley.  After Julian passed away in July 1999, Beatrice began volunteering at Sanford Hospital.  She loved the time she spent volunteering and met many wonderful people who remember her fondly. Beatrice enjoyed quilting, embroidery, and making special things for her family. Many family members still treasure a special blanket made just for them.

Beatrice is survived by her children, Judi Kruger, Moorhead, Vernon “Pete” (Joyce) Ellingson, AZ, Connie (Robert) Peterson, Hawley, and Nancy (Richard) Jorgenson, Hawley; her brother, George (Marlys) Peters, Hawley; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Julian, and sons Robert and Alan.

Visitation will be Friday, June 12, 2020, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., at Wright Funeral Home in Hawley.  A graveside service will be Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Hawley Cemetery.
