Ben Prokop

Ben Prokop, 78, Moorhead, MN, died on Wednesday, September 28, 2011, in North Memorial Medical Center, Robbinsdale, MN.Ben was born on April 26, 1933 in Belfield, ND, to Frank and Kathrine Prokop. He grew up and attended school there, graduating from Belfield High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 until 1952 and then returned to Belfield where he worked in the family business. Ben married Joyce DesRoches on August 3, 1963, in St. John, ND, and they made their home in Moorhead, MN. He worked full time at the North Dakota Air National Guard in Fargo, Joyce died on February 24, 1987.Ben is survived by his sons, Doug Janette Prokop, Littleton, CO, and David Heather Prokop, Maple Grove, MN; brother Ron Prokop, Kirkland, WA; sister Yvonne Olinger, Seattle, WA; six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; and brother Steven.
