Bennet G. Knutson

Bennet G. Knutson, 94, of Hawley, Minnesota, died Thursday, October 13, 2005, at the Viking Manor Nursing Home in Ulen, Minnesota. Bennet was born April 3, 1911 at Parke Township, Clay County, Minnesota to Edwin and Isabelle Mickelson Knutson. He grew up in Parke Township and attended District 11 country school. Bennet married Gudrun Johnson on November 8, 1941 at Lysne Lutheran Church, rural Hawley, Minnesota. He farmed his entire life in Parke Township. Bennet served on the Parke Township Board for 21 years, and was a member of Grong Lutheran Church where he served as treasurer for many years. Bennet is survived by his wife, Gudrun Knutson, Hawley, MN; three sons, Darrel Knutson, Hawley, MN, Glenn Gwen Knutson, Hawley, MN, and Milan Elsie Knutson, Fargo, ND; four grandchildren, Sara Knutson, Jennifer Andel, Jon Knutson and Kristen Knutson.He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Elmer Knutson; two sisters, Olive Knutson and Gladys Hagen; and one daughter-in-law, Connie Knutson.
