Bernadine Nicholson Schommer

Bernadine Nicholson Schommer, 88, Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, formerly Dilworth, MN, died there on Saturday, August 07, 2010.Bernadine Michaud was born on September 29, 1921, in St. Paul, MN, to Narcisse and Louise Schwendinger Michaud. She grew up there and attended Sacred Heart School. She worked briefly at Pearson Candy, Grant Department Store and 3M, all in St. Paul. Bernadine married Alvin Nicholson on June 30, 1943, in Las Cruces, NM. They made their home in St. Paul, MN. He died in 1958. She married Francis Bergeron in 1959 and they moved to Detroit Lakes in 1960. Francis died in 1981. In 1986, she married Bernard Schommer. Following his death in 2001, she moved to Dilworth, MN. Bernadine loved playing games with her grandchildren. She was a devout Catholic. She liked to travel and enjoyed her many friends. In the short time she spent at Eventide Lutheran Home, she really enjoyed the company of the staff and many friends there. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead.Bernadine is survived by five sons, Larry Twila Nicholson, Moorhead, Jerry Jackie Nicholson, Moorhead, Greg Leslie Nicholson, Deephaven, MN, Alan Carla Nicholson, Atlanta, GA, Francis Dana Bergeron, Perham, MN; two daughters, Patti Greg Paul, Ramsey, MN, and Janet Jerry Espeseth, Fargo, ND; twenty-seven grandchildren and thirty-three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, three brothers and two sisters.
