Bernard B. Kragnes

Bernard Burton Kragnes, 83, of rural Glyndon, died Tuesday, March 29, 2005, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND.Bernard was born on January 23, 1922 to Bernhard and Bertha Espeland Kragnes in rural Kragnes, MN. He grew up and attended country schools in the Kragnes area. He graduated from Crookston Ag School in 1940 where he also played football. He served in the United States Marines during World War II. On January 18, 1969, he married Mildred Frosaker in Detroit Lakes. Together they farmed in the rural Kragnes area on the same farm he grew up on. Bernard was baptized, confirmed and was a lifetime member of Concordia Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Moorhead VFW.He is survived by his wife, one sister, Olive Brantner, Moorhead, MN, one sister-in-law, Jenness Kragnes, Fargo, ND, and many nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Alvin and Lloyd Kragnes; and two sisters, Adeline Askelson and Lucilla Anderson.
