Bernice M. Anderson, 87, Hawley, Minnesota, died Sunday, September 5, 2004, in Viking Manor Nursing Home, Ulen, Minnesota, under hospice care. Bernice was born August 8, 1917, in Tansem Township, Clay County, MN, the daughter of Ludwig and Nilda Anderson Arneson. She attended rural school in Clay County, and graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1936. She married Eddie A. Anderson October 29, 1939, and resided on a farm near Pelican Rapids, MN. In 1949, they moved to a farm near Rollag, MN, where they resided until 1995. Upon retirement, they moved to Hawley, MN. Bernice was a member of Rollag Lutheran Church and served in women's activities associated with the church. Bernice was a most kind a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved music and enjoyed her birthday club, and visiting with friends, neighbors, and family. Bernice lost her loving husband, Eddie, in 2000. Bernice was also preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, a daughter-in-law, one sister and two brothers. She is survived by six children, Diana Overland, Hawley, MN, DeWayne, Kalamazoo, MI, Edwin, Hawley, MN, Willis, Pelican Rapids, MN, Daniel, St. Cloud, MN, and Stuart, Pelican Rapids, MN; nine grandchildren, Royce Angie, Chad Sarah, and Ryan Tracey Overland; Michael, David Nancy, Brynn, and Steven Anderson; Lindsay and Joseph Anderson; she is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Peggy Arneson, Detroit Lakes, MN; brothers-in-law, Bernard Marcelle, Moorhead, and Amos Anderson, Detroit Lakes, MN; a special daughter-in-law, Ariel Anderson, Kalamazoo, MI; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
