Bertha A. Burnside

Bertha "Bertie" A. Luthi Burnside, 90, of Hawley, MN died Friday, November 26, 2010, in Sanford Health Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, ND. Bertie was born on February 21, 1920, in Hawley, MN, to John and Minnie Sinkler Luthi. She grew up in Hawley. In her early 20's she married Willmer Erickson and moved to Seattle, WA, where she raised her family. She returned to Hawley in 1990. She married "Swede" Burnside in 1993. Bertie was devoted to her family and was a wonderful grandma. She loved young people and remained youthful herself until the end.She is survived by her sister, Dolly Jetvig; daughters, Gloria Rod Carriveau and Nancy Karl Seehorn; step-son, Larry Cindy Burnside; grandchildren, Richard Angie Watson, Karma Jason Huff, Ben Erickson, Kyle Seehorn, Zach Seehorn, Tony Jessica Kukowski Burnside, Travis Jenna Martin Burnside and Casey Alicia Burnside; and 5 great grandchildren. Bertie is preceded in death by her husband, Swede, parents, two brothers, nine sisters and a grandchild.
