Bessie L. Lord

Bessie Lorraine was born on February 20, 1918 in Hewitt, MN to Walter and Ida Johnston Stover. She grew-up in the Lake Park, MN area, graduating from country school. On September 1, 1938, she married Lyle Lord at her homestead. They continued to live near Lake Park, where they farmed and raised their family. Bessie was a farm wife who loved to cook, bake and garden. She especially loved to do all kinds of handcrafting. She also enjoyed selling Tupperware, eventually earning a car after many years of sales. Lyle died February 9, 2005. Bessie is survived by two daughters, Lynette Robert Koenig, Lake Park, MN and Lorraine Leroy Noreen, Benson, MN; son, Gallim Lord, Dilworth, MN; daughter-in-law, Kathy Lord, Parker, CO; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren and 2 step great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sons, Charles, Gerald and Garreth; two grandchildren, Lisa Lea Koenig and Staff Sgt. Lance Jacob Koenig; 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
