Betty A. Jacobsen was born March 25, 1939 in Luverne, ND to Viggo and Edna Jacobsen. She was raised and educated in Luverne Public School. After she graduated she attended Business School in Fargo, ND. Betty worked for Metropolitan Savings and Loan from graduation until her retirement in May 1988. Betty married James D. Ihry in Saint Agatha's, Hope, ND on June 5, 1965, and farmed one year when James was drafted into the service and stationed in Germany for a year and a half. After his service, they moved to Wahpeton, ND where James attended NDSSS. After graduation James was employed by Quest. Jay Matthew was born to Betty and James on October 23, 1972 and lost his life early at the age of 23. Betty and James retired at Pelican Lake where they enjoyed entertaining friends and family. Betty had a love for her flowers, golfing and playing bridge. She had an enormous capacity for family and friends. Betty will be remembered for her endless talents and her unspoken love for all. Betty is survived by her husband, James, Detroit Lakes, MN; two brothers, Gerald Jacobsen, Pelican Rapids, MN and Leroy Bertha Jacobsen, Hope, ND; two sisters, Renee Jack Dale, Colorado Springs, CO and Debra Marlen Kroeplin, Hope, ND; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Jay Matthew Ihry
