Betty L. Butler Prins

Betty was born August 11, 1938, at home in Herman, MN, to Orton "Skinner" and Theresa Anderson Gillen. She grew up, attended and graduated from high school in Herman before continuing her nursing education in St. Paul, MN. Over the years Betty worked as a nurse in different settings including hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities as well as hospice care and mission work. Her career was a true ministry to those she served and she took great pride in it. Betty had a strong faith and was very involved in the churches in the communities she lived. She loved the time she was able to spend with family, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.Betty is survived by her children, Julie Lesnansky, Loveland, CO, Mitch Ruth Butler, Cody, WY, Joe Butler, Woodland Park, CO, Carol Will Schermerhorn, Moorhead, MN, Shawn Antonieta Butler, Breckenridge, CO; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Tom Lesnansky; sister, Jeanne Pearson; and brother, Jerome Gillen. The family would like to give a special thank you to Hospice of the Red River Valley and to the 2nd floor nursing staff at Bethany Homes for their exceptional care and to Harvest Community Church for all their love and support.
