Betty L. Sather

Betty Lorraine Sather, 79, of Lake Park, MN, passed away on August 15th, her mother’s birthday, in Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND. Betty was born March 13, 1935, in Lake Park, to Adolph and Alpha Jacobson Wenthin. She grew up and attended school in Moorhead, graduating in 1954. She worked for Woolworth’s, Bell Telephone and several years at Eventide until retirement. She married Jon Sather in September of 1954 and together they started a family. They later moved to Bismarck, ND, and then Minot, ND, before moving back to the Fargo/Moorhead area in 1981 to be closer to family. In 1990, she moved to the lake home and has enjoyed being there since. She had a wonderful personality and enjoyed talking and learning from people she didn’t know. She also enjoyed gardening, spending time on her computer, and traveling with family, especially to Lake Superior and the North Shore. She was a blessing to her family and she will be dearly missed.

Betty is survived by her son, Michael Sather of Moorhead; daughters, Teresa Sather of Lake Park, Brenda Michael German of Emory, TX, Lesa Sather of Lake Park; grandchildren, William Lauren Jack of West Des Moines, IA, Jamie Jack and Jenai German of Tyler, TX; great-granddaughter, Caitlin Jack; sister, Elda Eugene Daker of Lake Park; and brother, Duane Beatrice Wenthin of Glendale, OR.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A family service will be held at Lake Park Lutheran Church Cemetery, Lake Park, MN.
