Billie Jean Bourcy

January 23, 1946 — May 15, 2020

Billie Jean Vanderloop was born in the middle of a blizzard on January 23, 1946, at her family home in Minneapolis, MN. Yes, she was born before the Michael Jackson song came out. No, the song did not come about because of her. She was asked this question a few times in her life.

She was the second child of Martin and Eustasia Vanderloop. She had an older sister and a younger sister and brother. When she was 22, she married Lawrence Miller and they had a daughter. At the age of 26, she married Merrill Tinjum and they had a son. At the age of 30, she married Jim Bourcy and they divorced 10 years later.

She worked as a waitress in her 20’s to 30’s. She went to college at Moorhead Technical College for accounting. She then received her CAN and worked at a few different nursing homes in the area. Billie touched many people and their family’s she worked with.

She was proud of the fact that she was able to purchase and home on her own. Her home was her pride and joy. You could always find her in her yard or garden. She spent many, many house taking care of her yard and disliked dandelions in her yard. Her grandchildren were her other pride and joy. She had six grandchildren and spent a lot of time with them. Yes, in her yard killing dandelions. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
