Bonnie Mae Haugen

Bonnie Mae Haugen, 87, of Moorhead, MN, died Saturday, June 15, 2019, at Brookside Senior Living in Montevideo, MN, under care of Rice Memorial Hospice.

Bonnie Mae Logue was born May 9, 1932, in McClusky, ND, to Clarence and Ella (Just) Logue.  She grew up and attended school in Mercer, ND and the family later moved to Moorhead, MN where she graduated from Moorhead High School in 1949. Bonnie graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Nursing in 1954.  Her first job in nursing was at St. John’s Hospital in Fargo where she worked for about 3 years.  She then worked for St. Ansgar Hospital in Moorhead for the next 4 years and then began a 41-year career at the VA Hospital in Fargo, retiring at the age of 71.

Bonnie met Orlin Haugen while he was a patient at the VA, and they were married in Moorhead on May 12, 1964.  They made their home in Moorhead and raised their 4 children together.  Bonnie was a woman of strong faith and church and her family were very important to her.  She loved attending weekly Bible study and was very active in her church.  She enjoyed bowling, playing bridge, shopping, and playing pull-tabs.  Bonnie loved animals, especially her dogs.  She also enjoyed traveling, especially her trips to the Holy Land.  Most importantly, Bonnie loved spending time with her family.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Arthur (Betty) Haugen, Fargo, ND, Catherine (Steve) Buelow, Watson, MN, Brenda (David) Carlson, LaVista, NE, and Sandra Aaser, Fargo; sister-in-law, Edith Logue, Moorhead; grandchildren, Christopher Aaser, Charissa Mieseler, Matthew Haugen, Kelsey Tungland, Barry Gregorson, Johnny Carlson, Diana Macziewski, Brittany Haugen-Harrison, Sara Haugen-Harrison, and Kimmy Haugen-Harrison; 12 great-grandchildren; nephew, Donald Logue and niece, Cheryl Welle.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orlin; brother, Gene Logue, nephew, Robert Logue, and grandson, Roger Aaser.
