Boyd Allen Sanden

Boyd A. Sanden, 79, of Moorhead, MN, died Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Eventide in Moorhead, under care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Boyd Allen Sanden was born November 13, 1938, in Gary, MN, to Roy and Anna (Hillesland)  Sanden.  He graduated from Mahnomen High School in 1956.  On October 21, 1961, he was united in marriage to Dianne Mack at First Lutheran Church in Mahnomen.  That same year he entered into the U.S. Army and served two years.

Boyd worked in sales and management in the automotive industry for most of his career in Mahnomen, Fargo, ND and Montevideo, MN.  After retirement, he enjoyed working as a driver for Riverview Place in Fargo and Dakota Chrysler Center in Wahpeton, ND. He enjoyed spending time with his family and taking occasional trips with Dianne.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dianne, of Moorhead; daughters, Debra (Scott) Hinde, of Montevideo, MN and Sheryl (Ted) Hall, of Lincoln, NE; son, Gary (fiancé Tammy) Sanden, of Moorhead; brother, Dale (Sandee) Sanden, of Thief River Falls, MN; sisters, Clarice DeBoer, of Crookston, MN and Ruth Ann (Jack) Kennedy, of Wisconsin; sister-in-law,  Corrine Sanden, of Albany, MN; brother-in-law,  David (Sherry) Mack, of Lake Elmo, MN; grandchildren, Sarah (Steve Huser) Hinde, Michael (Cassie) Hinde, Katie (Micky) Rutenbeck, Kristin (Bump) Christensen, Teddy (Lea) Hall, Ashley Karst and Lindsey Hofer; great-grandchildren, Baby Genevieve (due in March), Carson, Christopher, Catherine, Jackson, Marvin, Leah, Aubrey, Maya, Tait and Rhett; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, LeRoy Sanden and sisters, Randi Wendt and Verna Eide.

A Celebration of Boyd’s Life will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at 2:00 P.M., at the Moorhead American Legion.
