Brett G. Person

Gentle spirit, faithful friend. Brett was 56 years old when God called him home. He died peacefully, surrounded by family on November 7, 2020.  Brett was born July 15, 1964 to Gordon and Ardyce Person in Fargo, ND.

Growing up Brett and his family enjoyed camping almost every weekend in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter. He was also involved in Boy Scouts and the Lions club. Brett graduated from Fargo North High and then attended NDSU. Brett had a passion for computers, history, and family history and music of any kind! He made computer technology his career. He spent a few years working in California but missed his family, so he moved back to Fargo. Brett loved meeting new people, and genuinely cared about what was going on in each of their lives. Brett was legally blind from birth, but through his lack of sight, Brett could clearly see the good in others.

Brett’s five nieces and nephews were so very special to him.  He loved them dearly and kept in regular contact with them.

Brett will be greatly missed by father, Gordon (Carol) Person of Twin Valley, MN;  sister, Nancy (Michael) Richards of Fargo, ND; stepbrother, Audi (LaVonne) Burnside of Twin Valley, MN; girlfriend, Carol Wright and her son Callan Wright; nieces and nephews, Ashlee (Niels) Thomsen of Fargo, ND, Karlee (Evan) Cook of Moorhead, MN, Jeffrey Richards of Duluth, MN, Jack (Lexi) Richards of Dickinson, ND, and Emma Richards of Fargo, ND; great grandnephew and grandniece, Olin And Lucia Thomsen.

Brett was preceded in death by his mother, Ardyce Person and stepbrother, Robert Burnside.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 from 10:00-11:00 AM followed by a memorial service at 11:00 in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Moorhead, MN. The service will be webcast here on Brett’s page.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
