Brett M. Barnard

Brett Michael Barnard 38 passed away surrounded by his friends and family on January 27th at Essentia in Fargo. He was born on June 20th, 1977 and grew up in Moorhead, MN, where he made many lifelong friendships. Brett married the love of his life, Micki Finstad, on May 11th, 2012 and they made their home in Moorhead. As the grandson of a chef, he took pleasure cooking amazing food with his wife that they enjoyed sharing with friends and family. He and Micki were fortunate to be able to spend relaxing days and beautiful nights at the lake with loved ones. He played pool excellently and spent countless fun-filled hours shooting pool with his family and friends in league, tournaments, and his own basement. A man who knew how to spread laughter and warmth wherever he went, Brett always picked the perfect moment to crack a joke, break out his signature dance moves, or loudly serenade others with his soulful rendition of “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot.” He was a happy and loving husband, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.

Brett is survived by his wife Micki and their faithful companions Skip and Zea; his parents Kris Campbell and Kyle Barnard; step-parents Kevin Campbell and Dorothy Barnard; his grandpa Duane; and his siblings Brad Barnard, Shelly Nick Kosen, Scott Campbell, Charlie Barnard, and Sara Barnard.

Memorial gathering will be on Monday, February 1, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., with prayer service at 7 p.m., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Memorial service will be Tuesday, February 2, at 1:00 p.m., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
