Brian G. Tweten

Brian G. Tweten, 59, of Moorhead, MN, died Wednesday, April 6, 2016, in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

Brian George Tweten was born on January 11, 1957, in Fargo, ND, to George and Mary Borgen Tweten. He grew up in Moorhead where he attended school. Brian first worked for Heald Construction, then at Union Storage for 18 years. In 1995 he started working at Strata Co., where he was currently employed.

On August 18, 1981, Brian married Carrie Engel in Las Vegas. They moved from Moorhead to Hawley for 13 years, and then made their home back in Moorhead starting in 1996. Together they had three children, Cassie, Beau and Luke.

Brian had a passion for the outdoors. Being a gun enthusiast, he loved to hunt. He also enjoyed ice fishing and spear fishing. Most of all, Brian loved to scuba dive. His favorite dives were trips to Cozumel and Curacao. He also loved animals and spending time with children.

Brian is survived by his wife of 34 years, Carrie, Moorhead; children, Cassie Bill Tweten Delaney, Brooklyn, NY, Beau Bobbi Tweten, Moorhead, and Luke Tweten, Moorhead; granddaughter, Kaeli Jo Tweten; father, George Tweten; brother, David Tweten, Lake Park, MN; sisters, Sue Larry Olin, Walker, MN, Becky Terry Swanson, Cornville, AZ, Wendy Mark Dillon, Parker, CO; sister-in-law, Debbie Tweten, Moorhead; friends who were like his children, Adam Neirby and Samantha Neirby Beam; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Tweten; brother Tim Tweten; sister-in-law, Judy Tweten and best friend Jeff Neirby.

Memorial Gathering: Monday, April 11th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Memorial Service: Tuesday, April 12th at 11:00 a.m. in Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN.

Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Glyndon, MN.
